Velyna's Sunder of Earthbreaking Slayer PoB & Gems (PoE Settlers of Kalguur)

Progression

This build has multiple stages to work through as your character improves, that way you always know what to be upgrading from leaguestart to endgame.

Leaguestart: You can’t run Hollow Palm right away, so this is a basic Ground Slam build using axes. The goal here is just to hit maps and farm those first few uniques to get the ball rolling. Look for a Starkonja's Head immediately, and spend a few chaos on a decent weapon. Get rares with dexterity where possible. Lion's Roar can be bought now, or you can save for the transition and buy it after. You can swap to Sunder of Earthbreaking whenever you get it.

Transition: This stage requires One With Nothing with before switching into it, and a Briskwrap with 4 links. I also recommend buying Pure Talent and you should have the helmet from leaguestart. When this stage is up and running the next goals are Garukhan's Flight and Astramentis. Also grab a Vulnerability on hit ring, even if you can’t get much else on it at first.

Endgame: Get a high rolled Cyclopean Coil and put 20 Intrinsic Catalyst on it. You can find a good Brutal Restraint using the tool built into PoB, or buy the cheapest one on market and upgrade later. You should have a Watcher's Eye of some kind by this point. Make sure you have all the appropriate enchants, anoints, pantheons. Using Ancestral Vision combined with the Magebane keystone gives us full elemental ailment protection. The +2 impale Watcher's Eye is insane, and we can access an extra ascendancy with Forbidden Jewels.

Anoint

Once you get your Astramentis, start looking to anoint it.

I usually go with Discipline and Training for HP.

1x Black Oil + 2x Silver Oil = Discipline and Training

Change to Tenacity in the endgame.

1x Crimson Oil + 2x Golden Oil = Tenacity

Gems

6-Link Sunder of Earthbreaking

If you can’t hit 5 red sockets, you can use alternates like

Faster Attacks Support and

Concentrated Effect Support. This should only be temporary though.

Utility

Automation support is amazing for any instant spell.

Aura’s

Our final socket group contains all the aura’s we use.

Leaguestart Gems

Act 1

Ground Slam is available the moment you reach town, you can put it on right away. This guide uses 2H axes for the leaguestart PoB, but ground slam also works with maces, sceptres or staffs if you happen to find a good one. It wont matter what weapon you use until you start putting in weapon-specific nodes on the tree.

For easy weapon upgrades, trade 1x Blacksmith's Whetstone, 1x Leather Belt (blue or rare), and a white weapon to any vendor.

Make sure to be in Blood stance, you can hit blood and sand repeatedly to swap.

Act 2

New support gems become available after Chamber of Sins and after killing Weaver. Don’t forget to do the bear cave quest for the nice rewards on leaguestart.

Act 3

I usually do first lab around the end of this act or the beginning of next one. When you do it, take Impact as first ascend choice.

Act 4-10

This is roughly the setup used when I was finishing acts and entering maps.
